We finally got the drift pig onto the track to see if it could be used as a drift machine. Straight away we had problems, the fuel breather pipe started spewing out petrol once the Torana got on the track. This was an easy fix, turns out the force from cornering caused the fuel to get forced out of the breather pipe. A quick change of location (ie alot higher than the fuel cell) and she was sent back out on the track.

Toyo Drift Australia Round 3 Eastern Creek 30th August

This is the first official drift event i’ve attended and was really looking forward to seeing a whole lot of drifting action! Actually I was more interested in checking out the battles as for a recent drift convert, it’s something that i’ve never understood. ie how are point awarded, how can you battle whilst sideways etc etc…

Anyways, it was the perfect day (unlike the rain from eastern creek 2 weeks previously) with plenty of cars on and off the track. I was actually surprised at how small the crowds were!

Oran Park 22nd July

We had an absolute blast today, first time i’ve ever visited Oran Park and there was plenty of action all day.

Props to all the guys who put their cars through the torture of drift, good work - some brilliant driving and it’s definitely one of the best motorsports to spectate. Cars flying off the road left right and center, load of tyre smoke, engines bouncing off their rev limiters, cars giving the walls regular love taps - you name it, drifting has it.
