Adelaide, the city of churches, burnouts and FIREBALLS! Gazza Nationals 2008 went off with a bang, Steve Loaders HG (UCSMOKE) is ready to be named UCFLAMES after Saturday nights burnouts! The sun beamed down and almost cremated us with track temps reaching 50 odd degrees! It’s all good, we were there for burnouts and horsepower and there were plenty of both!

It’s that time of year again, Gazza Nationals 2008 Adelaide, is less than a week away and is set to be another action packed weekend.

From burnout displays from some of the top burnout masters, to some of Australia’s top drifters, burnout comp on both saturday and sunday, go to whoa, dash for cash, straight line superskids, track cruising and jet cars! What more could you want from your weekend? The smell of freshly smashed tyres mixed in with some unburnt fuel and topped off with the deafening roar of thumping V8’s!!

Gazza Nationals hit Calder Park for the first time and looks set to be kick some ass in years to come. Entrants cruised Calders track all weekend, dropping thick sets up and down the back straight, lighting up the ¼ mile with powerskids and drag racing.

Dial Your Own Drags

This is the ultimate equalizer when it comes to drag racing, power is taken out of the equation and skill of a driver is all that matters. Entrants set their dial in number after doing a couple of warm runs.

We covered 3,000 k’s in four days to get up close and personal at Gazza Nationals 2007 and it was definitely well worth it. Although I have to say that the roads weren’t anywhere near as smooth as the ones we enjoy here in NSW and the Victorian coppers weren’t to friendly either.

Gazza Nationals 2007 was a weekend affair attended by what seemed like half of Adelaide. Spectator numbers were big all weekend, showing that the Myers name still has massive pulling power.

The Crossroads team had their cars ready to fry some tyres and set fire to their cars for the spectators
