The year is quickly coming to an end and SpringNats 16 was one of the last events on our calendar before Chrissy rolls around. So naturally we headed on down to Shepparton expecting the usual blazing inescapeable heat Shep has to offer.

The trip down provided us with some interesting weather, as we travelled through Gundagai the rain had us wanting for a rowboat. Raindrops were the size or bathtubs and winds took everything that wasn’t nailed down and blew it straight into the side of our car.

Spring Nationals is now the ripe old age of 15 and still going strong. No matter how hard the boys in blue try to deter entrants, they keep coming back to Shepparton for Springnats. Thousands of spectators poured into the DECA grounds to watch the 450+ strong entrants thrash and show off their pride and joy.

Spring Nationals 2006

What a weekend, engines bursting into flames, tyres going BANG and plenty willing to smash their rev limiters into pieces.

I was also really pleased to see the girls getting out on the track with their modded cars and thrashing them too. They weren’t driving riced up buzz boxes either, big fat camaros, modded vls (both 8’s and 6’s) and no offence guys but they’re far better to watch out on the track!
