Well the project had kinda taken a hard right hand turn.....I found a 4.5L V8 108 Mercedes with electric windows, central locking, electric sunroof and some other goodies. I also spoke to a guy over here who has 2 (yep count em 2!!) 109 Mercedes, of which only 1900 were made world wide. So what I hear you say... Well, these model came out with factory air bag suspension which bolt straight onto the 108 suspension and the guy has told me I can have the air bag suspension for free. So Im getting that on Saturday arvo which will then limit me to using a Merc diff. That problem is also solved as he has a 6.3L Merc diff that he is willing to part company with so that is next onthe shopping list.
Aside from all that, the rediculous amount of rust I have found in the car has almost been repaired. The front end is in primer now, engine bay all smoothed out. The front end suspension and steering is back together, ready to be fitted to the car and the steering wheel has been modified to take the new wheel. All that remains from the body side of things is the small rust holes in the floor pan. I will post pics shortly..... Yeah yeah I know, so much for having the car ready for Motorvation.
