hit by a semi at 50mph

Well my baby is gone.... At least once a day I pull someone out of a car that has been involved in an mva... well today it was me.... I was on my way home form class today when I got rearended by a semi at around 50mph. According to my brother, my trunk is now in my front seat. I'm shaken up, in alot of pain, but very lucky to be alive. I guess I got hit, spun around, hit the guardrail, and got hit again by the semi. Apparently I got out of the car under my own power but I got knocked out and can't rememebr anything about the accident itself. I'm resting at home now but I'm hurtin pretty bad. The other guys involved (a car and the semi) are ok but the expressway was shut down for almost 2 hours as hte truck took out power lines and my fuel tank reptured ans dumped 20 gallons of gas as well as his 100 gal of diesel all over the roda. Thank god there was no fire. I would appreciate some thoughts and prayers guys... looks like good carma came around for me.

I can't believe this guy walked away from this one!

hmmm to be completely honest, i'm actually quite surprised that there wasn't way more damage.

think about it - 20tonne truck hitting say a 2tonne car at 50mph (nearly 100k's).

And yeah he is/was very very lucky to be able to walk away from that one.

@ george : yeah good point but for all we know it could have been a little 3 tonne truck - but still there is quite a bit of damage done. Imagine the feeling on impact?

I reckon the driver of the car walked away but he'll be feeling some serious whiplash right about now!

I would imagine that the entire back end of the car would be completely torn from itself. Good thing no one else was in the back seat or they'd surely be dead.

very lucky right there. thats why i hate driving near any trucks haha. cant trust the driver to watch out for us smaller vehicles
