Yeah, i wasn't saying they couldn't drift. I just thought that perhaps it would be a more difficult car to drift.
I've got zero experience - drifting as you all know - just thinking out loud really. When it comes to doing donuts, shorter wheel base = a car that spins alot easier and quicker. So I thought that perhaps with a shorter wheel base, then the car would be more volatile/harder to keep in a smooth continuous drift??

na it is funny basauce a cay with a longer wheel base can be hard to slide to, there not usualy as responsive but with power upgrade usualy fixes that.
after going for a ride in 3 different drift cars now all are setup for drift, 1, was Robbi bolger moanro at the end of last year 2, alexi's 180 from IDA and 3,Chris Eastons HR31 i personaly liked the feeling or alexi's 180 and it helped alot that i like his driveing style. and then chris cause i am a 31 fanboy :coolsmiley: and when i was with bolger it was soo cool but at the time still seting it up propely (as it drift this year) it if u lover lots of power this is what u ant to be in :D

That does make sense, re needing more power to slide a longer wheel based car. How did you manage to get a ride in Bolgers car??
I like the idea of a 180 as a cheap easy way to get into drifting but I love the idea of a v8 - I know I drove like absolute crap on sunday, but revving the crap out of a V8 just felt brilliant. You looked at me like I was crazy when I asked 'could you hear it' haha, I just love that sound - the nasty growl of a V8. Also that's twice I've heard you comment on Alexi's driving style. What exactly is it that he does different to others??

hehe, as i said before to u I went in a drift day in qld in December last year, well my brothers best mate dose work for Bolger with his earth moving business and so he know him fairly wall and he set me up to have a go.
i guess with alexi his driving feels like the car dose what he wants it to do. a very Japanese style of driving it not all over the place. Basically what I said that day at op. I am not one of those people that hate aussie cars or American cars I love variety of some of the drift cars getting out there these days. I for one love seeing euro cars drifting I think other then a 180 or silvia I think a bmw is also a very drift friendly car judging from the amount of euro drift vids I have seen. sorry for the long post :P

ahhh well lucky bastard to get a ride in Bolgers car :P
I spose he's(alexi) has been doing it so long that it would be second nature to him now. re the Aussie Vs American Vs Jap Vs Euro - I'm not against any either, I have my preferences naturally but as long as it's performance oriented then i'm happy :) There just don't seem to be many V8 powered drifters out there that are actually setup to drift. Actually i've seen zero V8 cars setup properly for drifting?? Are there any that go to the practice days??

yeah - not sure if you were reading the thread, but DA Mitchell was saying that Bolger swapped to the Monaro cos the ute had too much power and apparently that is why he is drifting so much better this eyar? anyways interesting :)
