there's also http://stage6.divx.com/?divx2s6=stage6b which allows you to upload high quality vids. It's getting quite popular now too. think i'm gonna have to get some stickers put above the drivers window with modified car forums.com on them :D EDIT : I just put the vid link in our drift videos thread http://modifiedcarforums.com/forums/...read.php?t=791

Thanks for that. Hopefully with more views/ratings/comments/etc it'll move up the order a bit when people search terms like drifting.
I'll be sure to check out DivX Stage 6 too. Technology in 2006 rules, the fact that we can upload vids to the net to, as you say, help spread the word, adds another valuable dimension to promotion efforts. Free finance tip for the day - think of and create the next MySpace or YouTube. |

It sure does add another dimension to promotions. There are so many small free ways of promoting on the web, it's really a matter of your imagination.
heh - I think we've all lusted after an idea like YouTube or MySpace, especially after seeing how much they sold for. Although the creators of MySpace didn't do all that well out of that deal ~3 to 5 million or soemthing. Also YouTube had some heavy hitters behind it - to pay for the 1million plus per month bw bills... Create a medium where by users can interact via uploading personal things they can share with others. Key being ease of use which both myspace and youtube have in mind.

r/e- MySpace, I thought NewsCorp paid over $500 million for it. Tough times for the owners if that was the extent of their cut. |

YouTube most definitely paid off in the end and congrats to the founders for such a brilliant idea.
re myspace, yes it did go for an enormous amount, but the founders only got a very small percentage. I don't know all the details - but they made some deals early on and it came back to bite them. I spose another way of looking at it is - they had a great idea but would it have become so big if large companies hadn't taken note?
