They say to get maximum efficientcy when using suck through thermos (ie. sucking through the radiator)- to use a shroud. Whats the story when using thermos to push air through the radiator- is a shroud still required for maximum effect?

most thermo fans are encased in there own shroud anyway. but by putting them on the front yes they will help while stationary but while driving the temperature will climb just a bit more than if they were on the back mainly due to the air flow restriction in fron t of the radiator. if you can mount them on the engine side then do!!

i'm with switched on i had a torrie with a 308 and mounted twin fans on the front it was crap the car kept getting warm when driving i ended up removing them and going to a 6 blade steel fan.
this torrie has twin thermo's to suck through and they work brilliant

mate 90 per cent of after market thermo fans can be used either way by reversing the polarity. fans such as ef or el etc cant be used in this manner as they will not push nearly as much air as they suck due to the fan blade design. if you are unsure of wich fan you need give me a buzz and i'll sort you out
cheers james
