Default New subs installation

My friend has 2 Kenwood DB+ 12" subs in his car and the only info he can get that they are DB+ series. He is looking to install two additional subs, but doesn't know whether switch to different type or stay with Kenwood.
Any advice on other brands would be great.

I've been installing sounds for 20 years, make sure you build the right sized box,and power the sub hard!!! eg: if its rated at 500watts RMS run a 500/600watt rms amp....just like engines, lots of power equals awesome sound quality and wicked volume without distortion!
So meny people buy cheap combos from the "big stores" and wander why they sound like crap, normally you get 1200w peak sub and a 600w peak amp....never go any good, you just got ripped!
theres nothing wrong with kenwood, just box them right and power them properly.
Remember sealed boxes are good for quality sound in your car, ported boxes are great if you want loud, feel it thru your body bass...if your under 30 go ported, instead of x2 12s one may keep you more than happy, but make the box the correct size and use the right size port, don't just cut a hole in your cheap sealed box...it'll never sound good.
make sure you use the right size wiring, earth it properly, sand the paint off the earth point, and use a star washer between the chassis and underside of the earth lug,and make sure you run the rca lead on the other side of the car to the main power cable from the battery..you don't want a revving noise thou ya speakers or sub due to a poor install.
If this sound to hard or you can't be f%^ked, find a good sounds installer, you'll never regret it!
also..run the same size and brand and model subs for the best sound.
hope this helps.
