Default reverse light connection

Hi Trying to hookup reverse lights on LH Torana with aussie 4 speed. There's 2 wires comiing out the firewall but only one terminal on the gearbox.Wiring diagram in manual also shows 2 wires.
What gives?

the reverse light switch is on top of the box next to the shifter linkage. there should be 2 terminals if not, its likely one has been broken off

Thanks for the quick reply.I was looking at a switch on the right side of the gearbox with only one terminal but now I see the switch I need to connect.Just a pain to get to.
Thanks again
