horses for courses mate, just have a look at the formula 1 cars of the 80's, 1500hp from a turbo 1.5L 4cyl!! yeah they were hand grenades but hey thats some serious grunt, and thats nearly 30 years ago, imagine what sort of power they would be getting these days from them with thier amount of developement!!

ok mate yea they made a **** load of power but ten times the engineering go's into them today oh and they make the best lap times they went down from the v10 to the v8 lost 1 or 200hp and put half a second on oh i thought they were v12 twin turbos back then anyway back when that bloke died cant remember his name i could google it and not look like a dumb **** but i sure can rember it back in like eraly 90's when i was young that incedent started the whole power decrease

btw the most powerfull lemans car had 1000kw it was a boxter12 twin turbo ther was a prototype that had a boxter16 tt that made like 1600kw so a 1.5 making 1500 hp i think you might be mistaken if not plz put a link up to prove this as the light weight blocks f1's use should not be able to handle that sort of power i mean a drag big block only dose like 8 runs at 3000hp and then they rebuild them and they are a solid bolck no water jackets i think u talking **** 1.5 lits doing race pace for a full race at 1500 hp but if you can prove it then go for it

here ya go buddy, i even found a video for ya!!!

altho the vid says its running 1300hp but back in the day the engines used to max out the 1500hp engine dyno's that bmw had in their engineering shop when they boosted them at over 5.5 BAR!!! they were basicly allowed to used anything they wanted so there was twin turbo v6's and all sorts of different combos!! and 1986 was the most powerful year for formula 1 engines cause they had bugger all restrictions!! these huge power figures were only used in the qualifing engines because they were rockets, and like most rockets they used to blow up!!! the race engines used to run a more sedate 900-1100hp for reliability, any more q's mate??

the F1 of old where only small capacity, but they were revving up to and over 20,000+rpm. they are limited to 18,000rpm now.

i love the sound of a tuff n/a streetcar they just sound cranky on the street but in drag cars nothing sounds like a top fuel car with all the candles lit... that is a awsome sound/sight/feel....

that is crazy that such a small engine can take that horsepower the most a water cooled dragster can do is like 3000-4000hp before the block gets un happy

Go the Turbo's. Nothing like a good dose, and the boost kicking your ass when it hits.
