Manifold Shave
I bought new manifold for my 308 and it wont fit engine as heads are shaved. Is there any way I can get measurements for manifold to get done so that it all fits. Any help would be appreciated!

when you say it dos'nt what the holes dont line up or the ports dont line up ?

Yeah it's the bolts mate and i dunno how to measure it all up and i hope i don't have to pull the heads back off but i have no idea lol thanks

there are two bolt patterns well not patterns really but apparntly one sort will fit both but one will only fit it's aged engine it's to do with the polution heads
but with the manifold that fit's both it has to be machined there are alot of ppl that know exactly the differnces aussie v8's forum has alot of info on this cuz it is pretty much holden v8 forum due to they are losers |

Yeah mate it's a edelbrock single plane manifold but it's because the heads have been shaved no other reason

Chuck the intake on with no gaskets and check to see if you can get a bolt thru.
If it lines up perfectly without the gaskets then get the gasket thickness machined off both faces and the ends. If it doesn't line up perfectly then you can roughly calculate how much you need chopped off by how far down the intake moved when you removed the gasket (ie without gasket you were halfway there then machine 2x gasket thickness off each face and ends). Hope this helps. |

cheers struggler thats the type of info i was after as it is about half a bolt hole out but hadn't thought of it in the way you suggested will have a nother look and see what i can work out
