hey all, new to the site, actually fairly new to drag racing though both my brothers have been around it for close to 20 years. i was just browsing the Top Sportsman site and saw this forum, im building a full tube chassis Ford powered 1991 Dodge Daytona which i plan to run in the new Top Sportsman class, it will have a 4.6L Ford Mustang Cobra V8, 2 x Garrett GT42R turbo's, 2 x TurboSmart Pro-Gate 50 WasteGates, 2 x TurboSmart Race Port Blow off Valves, Ported 97 Ford Cobra Cylinder Heads, Comp Cams, Forged Ford Crasnkshaft, custom JE Pistons and custom Manley Rods, Motec M800 ECU, MOTEC CDI, Merc Marine Coils, Mark Williams 40-spline 9.5'' Diff, Mark Williams Carbon Fibre Driveshaft, Romac 4-Link Floater Rear End, 34'' x 17'' Slicks, Northmead Auto 2-Speed Auto PowerGlide Gearbox, Stage 3 Neal Chance Torque Converter, 16 x Injector Dynamics 1000cc Injectors, Accufab 90mm Throttle Body, Accufab Clamshell Clamps, Hogan's Racing Intake Manifold (different setup to what u normally see manifold wise air comes in at the bottom), Aeroquip Kevlar Hoses, SpeedFlow Shadow series fittings, Aeromotive Fuel Pump & Regulator, Moroso 4-Vane Vacuum Pump. GrooveRyder is putting in some extra bars, doing all the mounting, pipework, radiator and ice box. Motec guru Shane T will be tuning the car and everone is confident of 1700+hp at around 30-35psi. hopefully we will run low 7's and working to high 6's. should have it all ready by December. its currently at GrooveRyders have had a fair bit of work done, engine mounted, turbo, dump pipes we are just finishing off the funny car cage now, i bought the roller as an unfinished project the guy was alot smaller than me so we had to make the cage bigger

i was going thru racingjunk in the US and seen a few listed and liked the shape and it's something different i have only seen 1 or 2 of them in Oz, funnily enough i found one in Oz, it was brand new roller and for the price it was hard to let it pass by. i will more than likely change the shell at a later date more than likely a Ford Mustang or something like that to match the motor.

anything's gotta be going better than that Capri, the neighborhood kids have been racing against him on their tricycles and winning. hopefully he gets it sorted out soon he spoke with Dave yesterday to organise another set of cams, he might have his old 302 capri out there running before the TT one.Last edited by prasac; 04-08-2009 at 09:06 AM. |
