Default Devil Yellow VC Commodore Project

Name: John
Model: 1980 VC Commodore L Wagon
Colour: Devil Yellow - Was Tulip Yellow
Engine Type: Blue 202
Engine Mods: Nil
Power: Nope
Exhaust: Extracters, deleted rear muffler
Gearbox: Standard Trimatic
Diff: Standard Salisbury
Brakes: Standard
Suspension: Standard again hahaha
Wheels/Tyres: 15 inch stockers at the moment
Interior: SAAS steering wheel, HSV pedals, new charcol carpet, charcol dash, SLE cluster, Suede headlining (Pale Chrome). Rest is still is progress
Other Mods: Shaved roof racks, passenger door lock and aerial. Smoothed front apron. Body seams smoothed and guards rolled. Whole car has been completely dynamatted from top to bottom. Brand new lights all round along with grille and NOS chrome work. Optima yellow top battery. VL mirrors and window surrounds.
Stereo: Alpine Type R speakers at the moment.
Future Mods: 383ci LS1 stroker, stalled auto, 9 inch. Smooth and paint engine bay. Finish off interior with VT/Z SS front seats with rear seats and door trims to match. Brand new suspension with coilovers. Brake upgrade. 10% tint.

Ive had the car for a couple of years now. It recently got knocked back for its pink slip so i pulled it off the road for a general tidy up and a new paint job. Slowly but surely things are slowly getting out of hand with it as im constantly picking up on things that i wanna/need to improve on. I was gonna go ahead with the engine conversion now, but that can wait a couple of years as i cant justify the money to do it at the moment as im looking to buy house in the next 1 to 2 years (a much better investment me thinks). The old 202 has next to no power but it still runs and is pretty healthy for its age so it can stay for another couple of years.
Note: I did have a set of 19 inch DTM wheels for it. But they have been sold off as i think they looked a little too big for the guards. Looking at dropping it on a set of 14 to 16 inch wheels and have it kinda looking old school.
This is the first car ive ever done by myself, so please be kind LOL
How it looked when i first got it

Then looked like this for a couple of years

Then this happened

How it currently looks minus 18's (they are on the VN now)

Then it was time to give it a polish, very happy with how it came up

Next things coming is new suspension and tint. Hope you guys like

Not much of an update. But ive been looking around for a set of 15's for the car. Ive narrowed my choices down to a set of Billet Specialties Street Lite's or a set of Weld Pro-stars. I wanna go 6's on the front and 8's on the rear. They are both nice looking wheels and pretty much the look im after for the car. Just wondering peoples opinions on either wheel, im more leaning towards the Street lites as they are less common then the Pro-stars. All opinions welcome

street lites are cool mate, but i love the pro stars for thier oldskool coolness, look into shorten ing the diff so ya can get a nice deep offset on the rear, cost a bit more money but will make it look heaps cooler!

Im not looking to have a really big dish. The 19's i had for the car i had a staggered fitment. The fronts were 8.5 inchs while the rear were 9.5 inchs. The pic in the first post was with one of the front wheels on the rear of the car. I did put both on and they looked kinda of stupid with how big they were. Kind of looked like a hot wheels car

Here is a pic of one of the rear wheels (tried them on my VN while the car was getting sprayed)

Abit of an update, dash is completely out of the car now for abit of work . Window tint and all the residue off the windows is now done so new 10% tint will be coming soon. Just gotta chuck my superlows and shocks in it and its lowered, just waiting to go back to work so i can buy some new strut top mounts. And also my brother had a VH front bumper refurbished and i got it as a chrissy present off him. Its now on the car and looks awesome, just gotta get a VH rear rubber for the back bumper to match. Gonna trim the front pillars tomorrow and chuck the front window back in also. Once the tint is on and she is lowered ill chuck some pics up
