Knowing whats its like to work with MDF and FG, that is a fantastic amount of work to do on your own mate. Awesome effort there.

hey guys
well fitment of the door cards was giving me the ****s the top was always waring on me. so what i did was cut the top section off and make a copy of it on 3mm with the mounting holes etc, then i made another copy but this one was to cover the mouting holes, then i made a strip to get the right fittment and moulded it into the new top section with filler, the fitted it up and made the gaps preety.
while i was at it i made some metal brackets that make the bottom section of the doors more secure.
enjoy

Heres a tip for you.
I built a few custom audio systems about 20 years ago, I used T-shirt material stretched over the timber frame to get the desired shape, stapled it into place and just used the 'glass resin to stiffen it up, and continued from there.
The material is realy cheap from spotlight, dont matter what color so you can get remnants (off-cuts) really cheap.
The advantage of using T-shirt material is that it stretches in one direction only, and is really easy to work with when building this stuff, which means alot less filling and sanding as the shape is already correct before you apply resin.
For a young bloke youre doing a fine job.

boot is pulled out and getting the same treatment as the doors, primer rub back primer and repeat......
as for the doors there final body work is done and ready for upholstery.
thought while i had the boot out i would show u all how it goes togther
first- sub boxes bolt to the body of the car with 14mm bolts
second- 220.2 amp box bolts to either sub box with 4 12mm bolts and threaded brackets

third- fire extingusher box bolts to both sub boxes with threaded brackets and 2 12mm bolts

fourth- 310.2 amp box bolts to both sub boxes with 4 12mm bolts and threaded brackets

final result is a boot instal that can be picked up as a whole and dissasembled in minutes.
enjoy
