Hi, this my '57.
It's all pretty standard at the moment as i only bought it a couple of months ago although it has got an early chevrolet crate motor called a 'target master 350' which comes with a 4bolt main standard so it should be a good basis of what i plan. Plans are stroke the 350, airbags, black paint and a 700r4.
Would love a 8.71 blower and BB down the track but that'll have to wait a bit.
I'm an Aussie living in Spain and the modified car scene here is pretty lame, all plastic and under 2L .

I know why you married a spanish chic - they're smoking hot! Have you picked up spanish? I was in sth america last year and tried but failed miserably at learning spanish...

i'm guessing you imported the 57 from the states maybe?

Hey it takes a while to pick up a languauge, i've been here 2 yrs now. I'm not to bad now but i always speak alot better when i'm ****ed . How long were you in South America? Would love to travel over there.
I suppose my misses is a bit of alright, otherwise i wouldn't have changed countries hey!
I bought the chev off a German guy here in Spain that builds custom Harley's for a living and imports heaps from the states.
I paid a bit for the car but it was worth it considering the other option is buying on ebay sight unseen then it arives here and you start crying....... then again i haven't got the paint off mine yet so i may cry still, hehe

Was there for ~6months. Had an absolute ball, locals were really friendly and everything was soooo cheap, really didn't want to come home. Spent 2 months in argentina trying to learn spanish, learnt enough to be dangerous

What is it with being drunk and the ability to actually converse in another language? Had the same experience in south america.

Here's hoping your chev doesn't have any of the nasty stuff hidden under the paint. What's the paint on it like now? Looks pretty good in the pics.

Underbonnet 8/71 would be perfect

The paint is crap, looks like it was painted in one of those 1 day panel and paint places but yeah comes up alright in the photos.
I would love a blown engine but when i do it i'll definetaly go a high rise blower manifold and let it all hang out!!!!

G'day fellas,
thought i'd give a little update on the beast. I've got a little free time at the moment so the other day i ripped off everthing from the windscreen forward.
I thought about doing a body off rotissery job but with limited funds and i just want to get it happening as soon as possible and lay some rubber, plus who looks under there anyway.
I was going to stroke the chev but i'm now just going to put a cam, headers and a decent carb and save for a supercharged rebuild down the track.
I'm rebuilding the front end, bushes, joints etc and painting the firewall, chassis, motor etc
I spent yesterday cleaning off the chassis, faaarrk 50 yrs of crap, some of it like cement.
Anyway the weather is starting to warm up over here so it's perfect to get
into it, crank up some music and start sanding
