They look that neat , and fit so well , the V8 almost looks factory fitted. I had a hard time keeping mine cool , the V8 stops a lot of air flow ,and in summer had to lift the rear of the bonnet a little .

Yeh ive had some cranky chevs over the years ....and im not into that whole overheating thing thats for sure....I had a custom made alloy radiator as big as possible...its a triple pass aswell....Also got a proper holden pump with the cast impellor not that pressed tin ****....Plus HPC coated the extractors to help get heat out of the engine bay....there is also a scoop that is to go on yet aswell...So fingers crossed I can keep the bitch cool.

and its a good thing you know you need reliability in a daily cause the last thing you want is to be stranded in your everyday travels and finaly as you have shown in your ute you cant build something tuff without putting ford bits in it so you can be sure of the fact when your out smashing tyres in your jappa that ford 9 inch diff will never fail you

yes well the whole thing is over-engineered at present, the standard hilux diff would have done it easy, I have two mates at moment with blown hiluxs, with standard diffs, both surviving well, one is a vortech blown 355(has run up to 20lb) 4wd with big ass 4wd tyres on it, and he gives it hell on the bitumen with no breakages yet, has done the gearbox about 4 times so far though. The other is a 2wd with a supra engine single turbo at 18lb, with 20s and 325's, no probs there either.
Mine looks a bit of overkill with the turbo 400 and 9inch, however it is intended to run a turbo on the 8 at some stage, so I built it in readiness for that. |
