gday all, just putting it out there not to buy an ACC BOSS HOG torque converter!!! i purchashed one thru ebay and rebel performance.. 14 day return policy once received! (takes more than 14 days to return to the states).. anyways, i didnt fit it up straight away seeing the trans was still in the vehicle.. i ordered a c4 windsor 26 spline converter 10.5 in bolt circle.. when i came to fit it im wondering why its not going into the bellhousing far enough.. so i takes it to my trans man and he inspects it.. ( 1st words were.. ohh no!! not one of these converters!!) he measure the overall length/depth and laughs.. windsor supposed to be 142mm, cleveland 150mm and chev about 155mm.. this one is measuring 155mm!! no wonder it wont fit in the bellhousing!! he says take a look at this and takes me to an identical converter of same brand and says.. this came on an engine package from the states and the client was a bit worried about it as the weldsholding the mounting pads looked a bit cold.. so he cut it open and was shocked at what he found.. 1st of all it hadnt been properly washed b4 assembly (fine particals) 2nd it had mig weld spatter all inside it( not furnace brazed) and 3rd- by far the worst was the inside of the front housing was all scored where the torrington bearing would run( they use thrust washers in these not torringtons).. so it hadnt been machined as this converter had yet to be run!! getting back to my dilemma i emailed the seller to be told i couldnt return it coz i put oil in it.. and further more they claim i ordered the wrong converter.. replying this converter wont fit any FORD application, it has a windsor bolt pattern and an overall length to suit a chev!! so im left with a doorstop basically.. how have i ordered the wrong converter when theres no application this one will fit??? i cant even re-sell it!! only thing i can do is have a shorter snout put in it, but having seen the quaulity of their internals is it really worth spending another $220 on this converter?? not a happy customer i tell you!!! very expensive and rather large paper weight this one.. and to REBEL PERFORMANCE.. you are rogues!! you know the measurements are all wrong but you hide behind your return policy even when the product is inferior and wrongly manufactured!!!
