Hey all, where is the cheapest place to buy full race slicks? I want them for drag racing. Also i notice there are different measurements for slicks compared to road tyres, can somebody tell me what size i should buy?
At present i have 14 inch dragways, with bf goodrich 265/65 road tyres on them, so what size slicks do i fit? Going on xe falcon sedan. Cheers lads. |

dude as you may have found wide 14 inch tyres are becoming a thing of the past i suggest you step up to a 15 inch rim and you will find that tyres will be cheaper and easier to find.
a 26inch*8.5/15 would probably suit you fine unless your making a fair whack of power.

i'd say that a 26/10/15 might fit 0r a taller 28/9/15 should also fit
but depending on power you might want to consider et street radials then you get the best of both worlds they hook up no different to slicks and are road worthy aswell and you should fit a 255/60/15 with eez et street's are cheaper then slicks too

the only reason i wana run 14's is coz the rims are already wide, and i don't have to go buy new rims.
The car is track only, its stripped out. Will be fitting a 460 and c6 auto package, considering i was laying a smoking start with the 4.1 L 6 and stock auto with the 265's i think full slicks are my only hope at getting traction. At present i race 1/8th mile at a local airport, so the start line is fairly slippery, road tyres are now pretty much useless. Still i will take into account the 15's, but which car do i source the rims from, then do i need to go get the widened??? Slick prices 14 to 15 on ebay ( new ) were about $40 each appart, so i can live with that, just wana do some shopping around. So the question remains... WHERE is a cheap place to buy them??? Who's cheaper... MT or hoosier? Cheers lads. |

Hello guys!
Buying my first pair of slicks. Going with Hoosier QTP DOT in 27" X 10.5" as I know they will fit under the Demon. Where is the cheapest place to buy them? Anyplace better than Summit/Jegs? Also, my friend runs these under his 440 powered Swinger and doesn't use tubes. Is that smart? What do tubes cost and where do you get them? Can't find them in Summit or Jegscar recovery.... .
