Which Diff

Is a 4 to 1 diff ,going to be the best diff for drag racing , street meet , when only running 150 xu1 carbies , on a 186 with good cam and head ,and 4 speed.

it depends what box you run

most drag racers use 4:11's

but to me seem very impractical on the street due to the idea is to hit full rpm at top gear over 400m and what i mean by full rpm is not a limeter it is the peak rpm of the power band

I'm running an M20 ,and will only use the diff for the day .

In the book 186 XU1 , 16.1 seconds ,Bathurst 186 XU1 , 15.6 average ,best 15.1 but no terminal speeds listed.

86 mph is what it works out , so 6500 rpm across the line you need somewhere between 5.1 - 5.3 gears

It looks like I used the wrong words (best diff) I have been offered a 4 to 1 , should I use it ? it has a 3.08 to 1 , in it now ,and would still be in third across the line .

hi if thats all you got to choose from. it will be alot better than the 3.08 diff you got. throw it in and try it you cant go wrong. post up your results.mph and rpm etc. good luck
