hey mate welcome
there are plenty of things to which can be cheap and effective the best way is to talk to your local mechanic and get online. In your previous post to talked bout taking a turbo off your mazda motor. have you considered puting this back on? And think twice bout street racng with it there is a perfectly good track almost in every state it aint worth the trouble if you get caught nor the bad publicity it receives, you only spoil it for others.

yo man thnx for the info. i would consider putting the old turbo back on but i got the mechanic to chuck it away, so i cant actually do that now, and plus he told me i had to raise compression and some other stuff so i am able to run the turbo anyway. p.s i think he was too lazy to fit the turbo in the first place, cause of the wiring and stuff. he told me that stock turbos are weaker anyway, is dat true -.- im not sure lol

thats weird as i have always heard that a standard turbo can be pretty good depending on what sort of power you want to make and as far as i know you drop your compression for forced industion not raise it

I have a Ford TX5 Turbo n believe me its VERY hard to find a mechanic to work on it just because of to many wiring and the complexity of the engine coz its japanese. Mine is standard n not that fast, try putting on a Boost controller at the moment to giv ita lil kick, dont go to big on the exhaust, if u want it done cat back go max 2 1/2 inch then tip can be any. iv got a rocket exhaust on mine. if u go any larger the car will obviously go slower due to pressure n wat not. there are many things u can do cheap to make it better such as KN Filter, GOOD spark plugs, Petrol (98% Octane) etc. Hope it is some help.. im only a chick haha

We have a 90 TX5 and it's crap.
I don't know how but we blew the gasket at 164k's. It's noisy in the cabin. The only good thing about the cars is the handling. If this car had the Toyota Camry's drivetrain I'd keep the car.

Hi there, I have just bought a TX5 Telstar turbo and then a MX6 Mazda 4wheel steer turbo.
The Telstar made me decide to go with the Mazda. Turbo's run low compression engines and the prevoius owner of the TX5 had stuffed around with the turbo set up adding an after market blow of valve (while keeping the original factory valving) this made a nice wooshing sound well above the sound of the engine so every one around could here the blow off but there was no real power. In comparison the standard MX6 laggs a little bit then takes off like a scun cat! It's a rocket and it's a standard system with an engine which needs a tune up. just thought I would share that with you, I'm so impressed with the MX6 that I've committed about three grands worth of work like exhaust custom made sport system, new shockers and lowered springs, a race chip to go with the exhaust, etc. can't wait for it to be finished. I need the fix as I also ride a supersport motorcycle. X V8 driver mustangs and fairlanes, falcons fun with lots of power now turbo's quite nice. Last edited by stevespeedy; 30-08-2009 at 01:51 AM.
