hey thanks everyone for the help much appreciated i will have to give it a bit more thought to what i will do i am still considering the rb30 conversion i think i nearly have it all worked out lol thanks again

infact it is also fuelinjected with custom intake it also has 3 crank angle sencors custom made 120deg apart with full motec computer and msd electronic ingnition and chrome engine well nearly. bigest intercooler that can fit on a torrie and as for cracking his block is fine his rods are fine but he has carreilo replacements $600 each for a rod still in the box cuz the stock rods are still going strong this car has featured in some mag and dosent go to the nats anymore due to a few years ago it got keyed and that was it

Hi My Friend ,Fist I am a 52year old rev Head that has been Turbo charging Holden six for 30 years All in Torana,s I have tried many differant engines and combinations . My Best was a 186 s block , i use 202 dished pistons and i run a small 25.65 cam .u dont need large cam to get good times , I went 60th in the bore Hyd lifter duel point Dizy . Top end i started with a low comp yello terra head witch i did all my own porting , I had a stradder 5 inlet manifold 42 ml Waste gate running 14 pounds Boost ,I had a 48 ml side draft weber U must run good fuel pump ,Because a weber needs at least 14 pounds fuel preasure when boosting I tap a one way valve to top of my regulater so when not on Boost it run 2 pounds fuel . And then when hit Boost the one way valve on top of regulater would allow full fuel presure ,,In 1981 i run at townsville dragstrip on street tyre exhaust up and run a 12.oo1 at 121 MPH . The speed was good but the traction was not good , All the Best I hope it helps .

you can get vac/boost regs my mate has one on his turboed harley

with fuel pressure you need to run not just 14psi you need to run equivlant to the boost of your turbo so normaly if you run 5psi then add ten pound of boost then you need 15psi of fuel pressure if you up your boost to 20psi then you will need 25psi of fuel pressure and so on

if you have been running them for 30 years you havent learnt much cuz you still using a carby

my mate runs 10's all day on semi/streets and makes 500rwhp

Yea but what is he runnings 10s in . I bet it a fuel injected Jap **** ,Try 12 s in a 186 carby fed car at 121 .i have had rice burner s and yes they make horses power but i rather do it in a torana .and remember this was in 1981. I have been in dragster Australia number of times And now i have a 308 lj torana that runs 10 s on street . My point was i was trying to help some one that needed advice . Any jock can tell me i have not learnt much but What do u Have .Its all good u give advice but do u have anything that can run them times . .My point was it was carby fed 186 , Not a million Dollar motor .And that was 1981 .U were proberly still in nappies .have some respect for people who is trying to help some one .I have been there done that and have nothing to prove .

Hi Mate I was not trying to start crap .I was just giving advice . Sure if u want to spend heaps u can run the Times . I was only trying to help . I still build turbo red 6s .I know these days everyone goes injection .But not all people can afford that . My combination was old school but it worked . There are cars today with injection that cant run them time now . I have friends that have skylines and silvias. they spend the money and still run not so good times . Its were u spend the money not how much . .Sorry if i affended anyone but i was giving advice.
