Meguiar’s Motorex lays claim to having ‘the most prestigious gathering of vehicles in Australia’ and this is most definitely not another BS sales pitch. There were some seriously HUGE dollar cars there along with those who don’t have the huge wallets but do have a whole lot of creativity.

One such car that had myself and others double taking was the VY SS Commo (pictured above) with a turbo the size of a dinner plate! Turbo lag would have to be a vicious enemy of this LS1, imagine hitting 4,000rpm and bang 20psi of whopping turbo rushes through your engine….. Scary fun perhaps? No matter if it has lag or not, looks like it would be interesting to throw around on a skid pan (no water needed).
Yes another commo(pictured above), but this is an absolutely IMMACULATE car, with and engine bay that looks like it has been cut from a solid chunk of steel and an interior that is finished to absolute perfection.
not 100% sure what dash has been spliced into this VH, however it actually looks like it is meant to be there. A lot of spliced dashes look out of place, this one fits with the design of the interior beautifully.
It’s always interesting to see cars in the process of their builds. There were two notable cars that slot straight into this category, that being the Camaro pictured above and the Falcon below. Both featured and enormous amount of customised metal work, with suicide doors, custom boots and hinges (the list goes on). The Camaro featured a twin turbo bigblock, huge tubs and some seriously deeeeep dished rears.
Twin turbo Ferrari you say? Not a problem, got a wad of cash burning a hole in your bank vault? Then this is a mod for you! Not to mention, custom paint (see pic below) and completely retrimmed interior!
1960 impala with hydraulics, perched with the front right wheel almost a metre off the ground.
