Narrogin Revheads 2006
I ventured all the way over to WA on the weekend past for Narrogin Revheads 2006. Narrogin is roughly 200k’s south east of Perth and is a small country town that was completely over run by petrol heads for the weekend. I gotta say, I absolutely loved the friendly attitude of everyone I met in both Narrogin and Williams (30k’s from Narrogin), everyone was extremely friendly and chatty.
First thing I noticed entering Revheads (known as the mud bowl) was that there were cars absolutely EVERYWHERE. The surrounding ovals were chock a block full of cars and tents and I couldn’t help but laugh when I noticed plumes of smoke hovering above the tree line in the camping area. There seemed to be no rules at first glance, a weekend where revheads and burnout lovers can just let loose, enjoy a few brews and turn the treads at will.
Burnouts
Never have I seen such a feral bunch of cars ripping out huge burnouts all day and all night. Who would have thought that a stock manual 6 pot torana would be able to turn the treads, let alone create enough smoke to engulf the crowd. The combination of no exhausts, tyres burning and rev limiters being smashed to oblivion brought the crowd to their feet to cheer on burnout entrants.
I’m a big fan of rat rods and one of the standouts for me was Jim’s ratty looking ‘65 Ford Truck, powered by a 302 windsor and a nice shot of NOS! I also got to go for a ride on Jim’s couch/esky, powered by an old posty bike.
Dattos seem to be getting quite popular for slotting in nice big fat blown 8’s, the one pictured above had a stroked 454 with the always essential blower. The sound this little 1200 wagon made caused the crowd to jump to their feet and chant and cheer. Unfortunately the blower belt came a cropper and she was unable to enter the burnout finals due to zero oil pressure, but keep your eyes peeled as this little monster is going to be at summernats this year.

Miss Revheads 2006
Saturday night and the babes came flocking to the burnout pad to strut and pout for the ‘attentive’ audience. Whilst there were some seriously HOT girls on the pad, no matter how long or hard the crowd chanted ’show us your funbags’, none were to be seen
The winner of Miss Revheads, Melissa (blonde bombshell pictured above) and I think most if not everyone in the crowd would have offered up their left one for a few private moments with the goddess of Narrogin Revheads 2006.

FMX Freestyle ’cause for concern’
Cause For Concern provided some awesome entertainment with their crew of nutcases (there is no other word for it IMO) who jumped huge gaps all weekend for the crowds enjoyment.

Show Cars
Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to visit the show cars until Sunday and by then a large number had packed up and left. It was stinking hot all weekend and i’ve got the panda eyes to prove it.
The Monaro pictured above is as perfect as it looks - the finish inside and out is absolutely PERFECT! No wonder that it took out multiple trophies for the show ‘n shine.

Absolutlely couldn’t help myself, saw this Audi whilst heading back to the airport and couldn’t help but laugh. Also it seems that in WA there is no limit as to the number of letters in a number plate? I saw a number that were 7 8 or 9 letters in length. Can anyone clarify this?
This weekend is Spring Nationals in Shepparton, hope to see some of you there.
